My December 19 Substack commentary, “A sick society and a corrupt government: The critique put forth by a new conservatism and a new American nationalism,” analyzes two excellent Substack commentaries by Christopher Arnell, “Is Liberalism a Mental Disorder?” and “Democrat Kleptocracy Will Lead to Civil War”.
I concur with Arnell’s formulation of twelve pathological dimensions of the current American political process and his view that the American Republic is in the first stage of political unraveling and fragmentation. However, I take a somewhat different approach, in that I stress the possibility of the consolidation of the MAGA movement in political power, providing the foundation for political stability and national renewal.
