I agree with April. I much prefer the short-to-medium format, as I don’t find a lot of spare time to read a long post and I hate stopping in the middle. I enjoyed reading your four-part “Protest Series” because, like Baby Bear’s porridge…it was “just right”. Keep up the good work, Chris. BZ

Thank you, Ronnie! I will.

Keep both. Write the long format and then dump it into a LLM and ask it to shorten it. Edit that one as needed, making sure it didn't leave out the most important points/takeaways, and post it.

I love the short format. I usually read on short breaks at work and I don’t have time to read the whole long ones then.

Good to know. TY, April. :-)

Chris - FYI, I signed the petition, and I referred it to one other person.

Now, as to the format of your posts, I like both long and short versions, and I'll try to explain why. First of all, I like your writing style, and I enjoy reading what you write about. (Hence, I'm a paid subscriber.)

That said, when I see one of your posts I'm usually engaged in something else. If it's a long post, I know I have to put aside whatever I'm doing so I can read and digest it. Maybe even read it twice, or at least go back and read parts of it over again. That's not a criticism; it's just that your pieces are thought-provoking.

If I am too busy to read a long post, I have to put it aside to read later. On the other hand, if I see that your post is a shorter version, I know that I'll have time to get through it right away and maybe even go over it again.

Keep it up, Chris! I look forward to reading everything you write, and I wish you all the best with your vision for the future!

Chuck

Thanks, Chuck. I appreciate it. I am, at my core, a long-form writer, so it will certainly be a process learning to write around 1000 words vs. 6000 words. LOL

But I am getting it down, I think. 🤔

I would like some short, some long. There is something more substantive about reading a longer piece. But I also know many are pressed for time.

I subscribe. Shorter more concise posts are preferable. I enjoy your writing
